For a reasonable number of years now, the Toyota Prius was the main hybrid model in the automotive industry and continues to be triumphant in popularity and revenue, despite the many competing cars readily available. The trend in Europe, U.S. and several Asian countries like Japan and Korea have been increasingly moving to full electric cars, and this industry has experienced a huge influx of funds from both the private sector and governments. But Toyota seems to have stalled while other car manufacturers are the beginnings of runaway cars like the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf.
Toyota officially became the world's leading automaker in early 2007, beating the American auto giant General Motors, which had maintained the top spot from the early nineteen thirties. A car that once contained the penetration of Japanese cars in the U.S. have fared exceptionally well in the modern US Consumer Assistance Recycle and Save Act of 2009 or more generally known Cashmere clunk.
